South Mountain Fair

The South Mountain Fair is celebrating it's 86th year in 2008. This year it's being held August 19-23, 2008 and is held the same week each year.

The SMF is a country/agricultural fair. The barns are full of animals (beef & dairy cattle, goats, sheep and swine). The main exhibit building is filled with everything from fruits and vegetables, flowers, needlecraft exhibits, photography, fine arts and crafts and lots of baked goods. There's entertainment in the auditorium, a horse pull on Wednesday evening, an open horse show on Saturday morning and an antique tractor/equipment parade on Saturday afternoon. The midway offers lots of rides and games and there's always lots of good food ranging from burgers and fries to full meals.
