Renovo's Colorful Foliage

The annual Pennsylvania State Flaming Foliage Festival will celebrate its 66th anniversary this year, having started in 1949 in Renovo. The festival is always held on the second full weekend of October so this year, 2014, will see the festivities running from October 11th through the 13th. Events and activities include the Parade of Queens through the town, talent shows, dances and other social activities, scores of vendors offering a huge assortment of crafts, wares, services, and food. The whole thing is topped off by the crowning of "Miss Flaming Foliage" who is chosen from the dozens of young women representing high schools from around the Central Pennsylvania area. Renovo is about mid-way on the scenic "Bucktail Trail", Route 120 which winds through the lush and verdant forests of the "Pennsylvania Wilds" and the West Branch of the Susquehanna River from Lock Haven to Emporium.

Renovo is a very special place to me. I was born there Having wonderful close friends and family. there and grew up there on 13th street. Always had a lot of fun growing up, jump roping with the neighbothood kids, playing all sorts of games out in the street. Having wonderful friends that I still keep in touch with today. People there are kind, considerate and will do a favor for you in a minute. I haven't been there for a few years,but I know by talking to friends it's still the ame in a lot of ways. I always think fondly of Renovo. The mountans are beautiful, the river is alwaysa. I'm so glad lived in Renovo. No better place on Earth

Thank you for your kind remarks regarding the beauty of the Clinton County area of PA and the lifelong place in my heart reserved for the place of my birth, childhood, education, and meaningful connections to family and friends. In the midst of the ongoing disregard for and damage being done to our beautiful Earth over the past many decades, I think I am moved to appreciate and value the amazing natural beauty of Pennsylvania even more and advocate for its protection and preservation.

It's fun to bring some notice to the annual Flaming Foliage Festival each year to bring attention to help increase appreciation of this fragile world in which we live. It's always so nice to see your reminder each year of the annual Flaming Foliage Festival at Renovo each October. Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful pictures of this area PA is so proud of.

I was really surprised to see you are now living in HI. Now that's what I call a long way from home. But oh the sights you must be seeing! I have to admit I really envy you. I'm sure no matter where you are when October arrives your heart will be here in PA and thinking of your passion in Renovo.
