My Dad's Painting in the Baker Mansion

by Caroll Laughlin
(Reno, Nv)

I was only to the Mansion once, but I remember seeing a painting that my Dad did hanging there. Is there any way to see a copy of it? His name was Jay Laughlin and he became a motion picture producer/cirector and animator and painted many many water colors that he gave away to friends throughout his life.
Thanks for your help. carolllaughlin@charter.net

Baker Mansion Informartion
by: Patricia

Hello Caroll,

That would be a real honor to have painting hung at Baker Mansion, your dad must have been really talented. I'll have to look for it the next time I visit Baker Mansion.

Here is the information to get in touch with Baker Mansion. I'm sure that would be your best bet to see the painting again. Even if it isn't hanging there now they would most likely have it stored. They may even send it to you if they aren't hanging it there anymore.

There website is: www.blaircohistory.org

Phone number: Phone: 814-942-3916

Address: The Blair County Historical Society
P.O. Box 1083
Altoona, PA 16603

I'd appreciate it if you let me know what you find out.

Patricia
