Jim Thorpe Jail

by Adrian
(Jim Thorpe PA)

I had just moved to Jim Thorpe, so my aunt and I went to the "old jail" on Broadway in Jim Thorpe. We were in the dungeons and I thought I heard someone talking to me behind me. I thought it was a little kid, so I told my aunt and she said there was nobody behind me. When we went to the hand print cell I swore there was a man standing next to the hand print! My aunt insisted that nobody was there. So if you are a medium, like me, I highly suggest going.

The handprint
by: Anonymous

The famous handprint at the Jim Thorpe jail has survived countless attempts to obliterate it. It's been scrubbed. It's been whitewashed. It's been painted over. The wall's been replaced. Still, the handprint comes back. But try to take a picture of it. "Oh no!" says the tourgide. "The flash would damage the handprint." Then comes the payoff... "there are pictures of the handprint on sale in the giftshop!"

And there ya go.

Creepy Jail!
by: Patricia

I have heard many times that the younger you are the more likely you are to see a ghost. I guess it's because they are more open minded about these things.

Your aunt probably made her mind up that there's no such thing as a ghost and decided there was no way should would be scared, or at least show you she was scared.

Thanks for sharing your ghostly tale,

Patricia (webmaster)
