Horshoe curve

One time, I was in Pennsylvania for the weekend, and my grandmother and my father were driving me to the mall to go Christmas shopping. We had to go past the Horseshoe Curve. Because it was snowing so bad we couldn't get down the mountian any other way, so we slowly made it down the mountain. But then we looked and there was 2 people walking on the side of the road, one with blonde hair and the other with white hair. My grandmother slowed down even more to ask them if they needed a ride, but they just dissapeared. It was the most amazing thing that I have ever expierienced! I dont know if they were angels, or if something tragic happened there, and we saw their ghosts, but I know there was something there. And I know I wasnt the only one to see it. So if your in Gallitzin, Pennyvlania on a snowy night, try going to the Horseshoe Curve, and looking for the people we saw, you could see them, or maybe not?

My Experiences
by: Anonymous

Ok. I was riding up there and we saw something or someone standing on the road. This was around 11 p.m. Now around 1:30-2:00 I was home and I started to hear things. I called up the people that were with me and they came over and we all sat outside together. Then suddenly, my friend that I was standing with (away from everyone else) and I heard a little girl say, "hey." I looked over and saw nothing then looked at my friend. She had the most terrifying look on her face.

tales from horseshoe curve
by: Rick

In the mid 1960's I remember hearing stories from my uncle and my neighbor who were both engineers on the pennsylvania railroad. They both told the same horror story of working the night run over the curve and not wanting to get off and walk the length of the train to check for problems. Can't remember exactly what they were afraid of (ghost/animal/beast). I can't find anything online but hopefully someone out there may remember hearing old tales of exactly happens on that mountain in the middle of the night.

Horsehoe Curve
by: Patricia

Hi Megan,

That old mountain road you're talking about it well known in the area for being haunted and awfully dangerous when it's snowing. There are so many ghost stories and legends about the Horseshoe Curve, especially the tunnel. I have to admit though this is the first time I have heard about a blonde and white haired ghost.

Thanks for sharing your ghostly tale, I found it very interesting.

Patricia
