Derry Railroad Days - September 20th - 23rd, 2012

In 2012, Derry Railroad Days will begin with a Hobo Picnic on Thursday, September 20th in downtown Derry, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
Free stew, dessert, and drink will be available. Free musical entertainment is always provided. Meet a real hobo and hear stories around a campfire of life on the rails. Crowning of a Hobo King & Queen.

Saturday, September 22, 2012 begins with a Parade.
The festival runs 11am-7pm and includes free outdoor entertainment, crafts/informational/food booths, Juvenile Junction children's area, Trackless train rides for children, open house at the Caboose Museum & Gift Shop and Derry Volunteer Fire Department Museum.

Sunday, September 23, 2012. The festival continues from Noon-5pm.

Free parking and bus shuttle available from the Derry Area Middle School.

Hey Somebody there in Derry, we need the dates for Derry R.R. Days coming up in September 2013. They would be posted on Frans Hobo Page so all the hobos could see when it is, and attend. Hi there! Redbird Express here. I would hope by now that there has been a date picked for r.r.days in september. Would like to know that date so it could be posted on '' frans hobo page''that way more hobo"s would know about it,and attend. There were 8 of us here in 2012. I came in with Grandpa Dudley. We had a great time! As usual, everybody was very friendly, the show was VERY well organized, and we had a GREAT time. We're lookin forward to next year!!!

We will arrive Derry at or about 10:00 pm on Wednesday and hopefully there will be a camp fire already going.

the best thing is that it will be a two day thing again this year. i told everybody at britt, iowa this year at the national hobo convention. lets see who shows up. i'll be there a couple days early. : sugar bear : is looking forward to us being there. and that yummy hobo stew that we all enjoy on thursday evening. can't wait! see ya" then. I had always wanted to attend this gathering but could never make it, and was sad to hear that it had been discontinued.

I, along with my husband, Trucker Phil are planning on this one! We are looking forward to it!

I've been coming to derry for 12 years now. Guess i represent the hobo's from britt,iowa. Several of us plan to attend Derry's r.r. days this coming Sept. 20 - 23 rd. We all love to see all the passing Norfolk-Southern trains that pass thru Derry. In between all this, we hang out at : Sugar Bears : on Chestnut Street. Stop by and see us.
