Artifest 2013 sets the stage for a family-friendly celebration of culture and tradition through art, music, dance and food. During the weekend of June 8th and 9th, see living cultural heritage demonstrations from Pennsylvania German barrel making to porcupine quillwork to flute making. Experience Old World culture in our New World Renaissance Village complete with merchants, minstrels, and fire breathers. See American Revolutionary War re-enactors and American Indian 18th century cooking techniques.

At Artifest’s Kids Place, children can paint the Kaleidoscope Mural and create crafts from piñatas to Chinese lanterns. Exhibits will include artifacts and demonstrations of flintknapping. Cultural vendors from Ukrainian to African-American to American Indian craftsmen will offer handmade wares all day long, including beadwork, painting, and chain jewelry.

On Artifest’s Main Stage, non-stop cultural performances of music and dance will be performed from 11:00am to 6:00pm. Featured performances include Vietnamese dancers, the Aztec Fire Dancers – Salinas Family from Mexico City, Kazka Ukrainian Folk Ensemble, El Grupo Mexicano, Neighborhood First Drummers, Matthew White Eagle Clair, champion hoop dancer, and more. Delicious treats will be available from Ukrainian, Jamaican, Southern Comfort, and American Indian traditions.
