46th Annual Potter-Tioga Maple Festival - May 4 & 5, 2012

Maple syrup has been called “the nectar of the gods” and there’s nowhere better to enjoy it than God’s Country.

Plan for a sweet weekend as Coudersport hosts the 46th Annual Potter – Tioga Maple Festival on May 4 and 5, 2012 at the Potter County Courthouse Square. Learn how maple syrup is produced and sample and buy locally made maple sweets and treats, ranging from maple mustard and salad dressings, to maple candy, sundaes, milkshakes and cotton candy.

Events kick off Friday, May 4 at 9 AM, with vendors, sugar shack demonstrations, and carnival rides and games throughout the day. Highlight events on Friday include solar viewing sessions with experts from Cherry Springs State Park from 2 – 6 PM and live music featuring a steel drum band at 5:30 PM and Jakob’s Hollow at 7 PM.

Saturday’s events kick off with a pancake breakfast from 7 AM - 3 PM at the Coudersport Consistory. Vendors, sugar shack demonstrations, and carnival rides and games will be open on the Courthouse Square throughout the day. Saturday’s highlight events include an antique car show from 9 AM – 2 PM, guided historical tours of Coudersport by the Potter County Historical Society at 10 AM and Noon, a second chance for solar viewing from 10 AM – 6 PM, live music by Saloonaties from 10:30 AM – 1:45 PM, and chainsaw carving demonstrations by Lions Den from 11 AM – 1 PM. The festival comes to a close with the crowning of Potter and Tioga Counties’ Maple Sweethearts at 2 PM and the Maple Sweetheart parade at 3 PM. For more information, visit www.coudersport.org.
