Elaini Arthur
by: Anonymous

Elaini is now all of 14 and is the future of Country Music. With the great voice she has and the personality to go with it it's no wonder she is appearing at carnivals and interest is high in her. The Morning Hearld newspaper in Hagerstown,Md had an interview with her just days before her concert in Smithsburg,Md. Elaini just WOWS you with her singing ability at such a young age. I'm going to the Berkeley Springs carnival to see her where she will have HER BAND also with her. I can't wait for JULY 15th in Berkeley Springs,WV.

Clearfield Fair date
by: Anonymous

The date of the Clearfield Fair has always been the 5th full week before labor day. It still holds true to that this year and has not changed.

So when planning Houtzdale Days, should folks consider the 4th weekend in July? Or do you go with the weekend prior to the Fair? How far in advance is this date known and how do you get the word out on that date?

The Houtzdale Days has been the fourth weekend of July for years........We did not change our date ,,,,the Clearfield Fair changed their week so that the fair would be in the first full week of August..

Why the change in date?
by: Anonymous

Why aren't you following the traditional date of the week before the Clearfield fair? This was a tradition for some time and those of us who planned around that date a year in advance are upset. Travel plans can't be changed. Reunions and get togethers can't be changed. Conflicts with other events. Who all is on this planning committee and what benefit was it to move the date up a week? I know one group that was even going to plan on bringing a concession to the event as a fundraiser and had rented the proper equipment and everything and can not get it for the new weekend.

Hi Carolyn,

Thank you so much for being the first to submit in 2009 and start the New Year off with your announcement of the Houtzdale Days Festival. I can't believe I didn't know about this festival since I live within a 30 minute drive. I'll be sure to attend this year!

Houtzdale is such a nice community, I wish you much success on this year's festivities.
